The rollout of the plans to deal with Lafayette Consolidated Government and Rock 'n' Bowl owner Johnny Blancher to develop the block of downtown Lafayette that houses City Court and the City Marshal caught some people by suprise last week. Neither City Court Judge Doug Saloom nor City Marshal Reggie Thomas were informed about the plans in advance, nor was City Council chairman Glenn Lazard. In the past five years, according to City Court Judge Doug Saloom, the city and court spent $2 million for a new roof and air conditioning system. The building, he said, will be in good shape for another 25 years.
