Good afternoon,

There were dramatic scenes in Blackpool yesterday as an 80-year-old man doused Halifax bank in Church Street with petrol and threatened to set it on fire.

The incident which began at around 2pm finally came to an end 12 hours later when the man gave himself up.

In other news, Lancashire's billionaire Issa brothers are reportedly set to buy Asda in a deal estimated to be worth around £6.5bn.

The Euro Garages owners are said to be leading a consortium backed by a syndicate of lenders including Barclays, ING, Lloyds Banking Group and Morgan Stanley.

Finally, a Chorley man was woken recently to a herd of cows wrecking his back garden, thanks to a broken fence.

Then just nine days later, and after the fence had been repaired, the cows returned causing further damage to the poor man's garden.

What's the strangest thing you've discovered in your garden?

Enjoy your day.
