Lancashire’s frontline care workforce should be “a role model for the rest of the population” by taking up the offer of a coronavirus vaccine.
View email online | | | | | Mar 17, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, After the slowest of starts we now seem to be rattling reassuringly fast through the age groups as the vaccination programme marked its 100th day today. New invitations are now going out nationally to millions of people aged 50 to 54 in the latest stage of the programme, the biggest the NHS has ever had to roll out. So if your phone starts beeping with a text message from the NHS it’s probably you next. (They appear as an alert from NHS Vaccine or may be from your local GP) But if it doesn’t - don’t forget - if eligible - you can book via the website. And if you can’t get online, you can call 101 to get a vaccine slot. Dr Amanda Doyle OBE, GP and Lancashire and South Cumbria ICS Lead, has said the number of vaccines supplied can really vary but she is optimistic that next week they will be larger - and is urging people to come forward. So it’s all looking really positive. You can literally feel the optimism, along with spring, in the air that we may get some of the missing parts of our lives back before long. As we approach the one year anniversary of the first lockdown, hopes are high. Have a happy and safe evening, and kind regards, Nicola Adam You can email me at nicola.adam@jpimedia.co.uk | |
