EQS Breaks Ground For New Vacuum Induction Melting Furnace
Ellwood Quality Steels (EQS), based in New Castle, PA, has begun construction for the new vacuum induction melting furnace (VIM) to produce premium alloys, supporting our customers' applications, including aerospace, space, defense and energy. The installation will produce heat sizes from 6 Mton to 18 Mton. EQS will supply material to support customer needs using the new VIM coupled with our expanded vacuum arc re-melting (VAR) and electroslag re-melting (ESR) capabilities with 2 new VAR furnace recently commissioned this year. The VIM is expected to be commissioned in 2026. We will be available while visiting the Paris Airshow week of 6/16/25.
