NSI grads nominated for 2019 Directors Guild of Canada awards

The Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) 2019 award nominees were announced this week and several NSI grads were honoured with nominations:

Outstanding directorial achievement in feature film

Red Snow from writer/director Marie Clements (Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program, NSI Storytellers)

Discovery Award

nîpawistamâsowin: We Will Stand Up from writer/director Tasha Hubbard (NSI IndigiDocs)

Outstanding directorial achievement in comedy series

Baroness von Sketch Show episode “Is That You Karen?” from directors Jordan Canning (NSI Drama Prize) and Jeremy Lalonde (NSI Totally Television)

Outstanding directorial achievement in movies for television and miniseries

Mary Kills People episode “The Key to Faith” from director Norma Bailey (NSI Totally Television)

The awards are presented at the annual DGC gala on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
