Production on NSI Features First-developed A Small Fortune underway in Prince Edward Island Posted: 24 Oct 2019 02:26 PM PDT
Production is currently underway on NSI Features First-developed project A Small Fortune from writer Adam Perry and producer Jason Arsenault. Adam and Jason originally developed A Small Fortune through the course in 2016. The film follows two Irish moss harvesters who discover a boat full of money. Their decision to keep it leads them down a dark and violent path. Adam and Jason recently spoke to CBC about the project and bringing more film production to Prince Edward Island. A Small Fortune is expected to premiere in spring 2020. • • • NSI Features First provides development training for writer/producer teams looking to produce their first or second feature film with strong commercial appeal. Over 20 feature films developed through the program have been produced since 1997. NSI Features First is funded by Presenting Sponsor Telefilm Canada; Supporting Sponsors CBC Gem, Super Channel, Corus Entertainment and Breakthrough Entertainment; Provincial Sponsor Creative BC through the Daryl Duke and William Vince Scholarship Fund; and Industry Supporters William F. Indigenous films from NSI grads at free Winnipeg First Fridays event, November 1 Posted: 24 Oct 2019 02:19 PM PDT Winnipeg’s Indigenous Filmmakers Association has joined forces with Creative Manitoba for an evening of short films as part of Creative Manitoba’s First Fridays programming. The event takes place Friday, November 1 at Creative Manitoba, 245 McDermot Avenue (fourth floor). This event is free and open to the public. Screenings are followed by a panel discussion and Q+A with filmmakers.
