Get free and two-for-one tickets to Coconut Hero screenings in Toronto

Coconut Hero, a new film from producer Paul Scherzer (NSI Drama Prize) screens from March 18 to 31 at the Carlton Cinema in Toronto.

The National Screen Institute has partnered with Innovate By Day to give away free and two-for-one tickets to the film. If you’re in Toronto and want to get two-for-one tickets to a screening, use the code ‘Northern Special’ at the box office.

There are 10 free tickets available to NSI’s Toronto audience as well. The first 10 people to email me with the subject line ‘Coconut Hero’ will receive free passes to the film.

Coconut Hero is about 16-year-old Mike who hates his crappy life in the sticks and wants out … permanently! He spends his time devising ways to do himself in, so when the doctor informs him he has a fatal brain tumor, his prayers are seemingly answered. But everything changes when he meets a girl and falls in love for the first time.

My Brain Made Me Do It, a new documentary produced by Merit Jensen Carr’s (NSI Global Marketing) company Merit Motion Pictures, premieres tomorrow evening on CBC’s The Nature of Things.

This documentary reveals the powerful influence of brain biology on criminal behaviour: we like to think that we’re all ultimately in control of our actions, but how true is this really?
