The Breadwinner nominated for 2018 Oscar Posted: 23 Jan 2018 10:48 AM PST The Breadwinner, an animated feature from Anthony Leo’s (NSI Totally Television) production company Aircraft Pictures, is nominated for a 2018 Academy Award in the Animated Feature Film category. Directed by Nora Twomey, the film is adapted from the 2001 novel of the same name by antiwar activist Deborah Ellis and is based on her experiences visiting refugee camps in geopolitically volatile Afghanistan during the 1990s.
