PE/VC Investors Remain Active in LatAm: LAVCA 2016 INDUSTRY DATA

Recently featured on Bloomberg Radio's Deal of the Week, the 2016 LAVCA Industry Data & Analysis, summarizes the results of LAVCA’s 8th annual survey of nearly 250 fund management firms active in Latin America and the Caribbean, conducted between January and February 2016.

Latin American PE/VC investors remained active in 2015 despite macroeconomic headwinds, with US$6.5b deployed through 310 transactions. Latin American-focused PE/VC funds raised US$7.2b in 2015, with a strong showing of mid-market vehicles ranging from US$100m-US$750m, and only one fund surpassing US$1b. The capital was raised through 52 partial or final fund closings, as compared to 56 closings in 2014.

This week, LAVCA published Country Level Policy Overviews for Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. Developed by LAVCA and Public Policy & Global Standards Council Members the LAVCA Country Level Policy Overviews consist of macro-overview policy briefs regarding fund formation rules and restrictions around the role of institutional investors in pertinent Latin American countries.

Brazil Venture Investors Peer Exchange: May 3, 2016

For the third consecutive year, LAVCA, in partnership with Omidyar Network, Silicon Valley Bank, Google, and ABVCAP, is hosting the Brazil Venture Investors Peer Exchange, a private half day program featuring practical action oriented discussions among the most dynamic early stage investors active in Brazil today, and special international guests.
