Spiritual and Temporal

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Mosiah 2:41

"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."

Brigham Young
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Brigham Young

"We cannot even enter the temple when it is built, and perform those ordinances which lead to spiritual blessings, without performing a temporal labor. Temporal ordinances must be performed to secure the spiritual blessings the Great Supreme has in store for his faithful children" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young, p. 22).

Library: HIS RETURN: Chapter 4: Patience in Persecution

"Persecution is never a pleasant experience. But the Lord has counseled us through His prophets about how the Saints should respond to this latter-day period of persecution. He has also told us why it will happen, and how it will bring about His purposes in preparing for His Return.

1836 - Hyrum Smith severely cut himself with an ax on his left arm by accident.  The Prophet Joseph hurried to Hyrum's house to check on him.  He was grateful that it wasn't worse and asked Heavenly Father to bless his father's family and to heal his brother.
