Latter Day Light DAILY DEVOTIONAL February 22, 2019 Blessing of Temple Covenants |
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Doctrine & Covenants 128:19 "Now, what do we hear in the gospel which we have received? A voice of gladness! A voice of mercy from heaven; and a voice of truth out of the earth; glad tidings for the dead; a voice of gladness for the living and the dead; glad tidings of great joy. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those that bring glad tidings of good things, and that say unto Zion: Behold, thy God reigneth! As the dews of Carmel, so shall the knowledge of God descend upon them!" ARCHIVE |
QUOTE OF THE DAY David O. McKay "Those who make covenants for their loved ones and participate in the highest ideal of marriage ever given to man will walk in the spirit and not indulge in the flesh. You will be true to the covenants you make in the House of God" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: David O. McKay, p. 131). ARCHIVE |
TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY February 22 1836 - In the afternoon the sisters in Kirtland met to make the veils of the Temple. The veils were white canvas curtains that divided the main floor of the Temple into four sections. This was so several meetings could be held at one time in the Temple. There were also curtains to separate the pulpits from the rest of the room. The Prophet reports that the lower room of the Temple is ready to be painted. Click Here for More! |
