Here’s more evidence the M&A deep freeze is slowly thawing.
America’s Laureate Education has found a buyer for Australia’s Torrens University and the rest of its Australia and New Zealand portfolio, about four months after suspending an auction to sell the business.
As students start heading back to class, one of the auction’s bidders re-approached Laureate in recent weeks to revive the M&A talks, and was expected to sign the $900 million deal on Wednesday night.
Its analysts have crunched the numbers on which stocks should be at the top of watchlists sticky-taped to capital markets bankers' screens around the country.
