#2 Denture Creams Linked to Health ProblemsWilmington, NC People who regularly use denture cream, including Fixodent, PoliGrip and Super PoliGrip adhesives might be surprised to learn that the products have been linked to a risk of health problems including neurological issues. In fact, a study published in the journal Neurology, in 2008, has found a link between overuse of denture creams and a risk of zinc toxicity. That has prompted lawsuits against the makers of denture creams, alleging consumers should have been warned about the risks of these products.

#6 Coca-Cola Bottler to Settle ERISA lawsuit for $3.5 MillionCharlotte, NC Large independent bottler, Coca-Cola Consolidated Inc., has agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle a class-action breach of fiduciary duty lawsuit that could have involved thousands of plan participants. The ERISA lawsuit was originally brought in 2020 by two participants in the Coca-Cola Consolidated, Inc. 401k Plan. Cheyenne Jones v. Coca-Cola Consolidated Inc. alleges that the plan’s administrative committee breached its fiduciary duty to participants by failing to monitor unreasonable fees and the poor performance of a risky investment option.

#8 Maker Of “Neuro” Drinks Agrees To Pay $500,000 In Fines and Restitution Neurobrands LLC, the Santa Monica-based maker of the “Neuro” line of drinks, has agreed to a permanent court injunction that requires it to change its marketing practices. The company will also pay $500,000 in penalties and restitution as part of a settlement with local prosecutors.
#9 Zetia and/or Statins: The Good, the Bad and the UglyHalle-Wittenberg, Germany Can a drug designed to curb heart attacks also cause heart attacks in some people? Apparently, it's possible with statins or medication like Zetia when used in combination with a statin. Statins are designed to lower the "bad" cholesterol thought to be a contributing factor for heart attack and stroke, while leaving the so-called "good" cholesterol to do the good work that good cholesterol, ultimately, does.
