Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here are some of today's top headlines. Executions: Late last week, a judge ruled in favor of attorneys for death row inmates who want to revive a long-dormant federal lawsuit over the ways Louisiana kills its condemned, an attempt to fend off the state's first execution since 2010. Now, a federal appeals court in New Orleans has halted reopening of that legal challenge. John Simerman explains. Kern Studios: Kern Studios builds nearly 1,000 Carnival-style floats each year for more than a dozen local krewes and a growing number of out-of-state parades and projects. But they need more space. Stephanie Riegel has this look at the company's plan to expand. Parade delays: A rainy Sunday delayed six regional Mardi Gras parades. Doug MacCash has the latest roll times and maps for Femme Fatale, Carrollton, King Arthur, Barkus, Atlas and Dionysus. Plus, here's where you can drop off all the unwanted beads you catch on the route. Thanks for reading. Check back throughout the day for more news, entertainment and sports from The Times-Picayune. |
