My wife and I celebrated 25 years of marriage on May 17th. I've been writing this newsletter for 20 years out of those 25 years, so for my long time readers we have learned a lot and grown a lot together. Thank you for being with me on this journey. In this spirit I want to invite you to listen to this episode of my wife's podcast, Kathryn for Real, where we answer your questions and talk about what we learned in 25 years of marriage.
If you haven't read Relationship Grit, a book we wrote about our ups and downs, mistakes, failures, lessons and growth, here are the highlights. It was love at first sight. For me that is. :) A warm embrace. A connection. A blow off... by her. I would see her a week later at a charity event walking across the room. I wouldn't leave without getting her number. She canceled five times when we agreed to go on a date. One time she said she couldn't go because she had to wash her hair. Yes, she actually said that! I had grit. Finally a date and we've been together ever since and celebrated 25 years of marriage on May 27th! We have relationship grit. We worked through the tough times and resolved to stay together when there were moments we didn't want to.
I wouldn't be the man I am today without her. I have no doubt that God brought us together and I'm thankful through all the ups and downs that Kathryn Gordon is my wife. I love her more than ever and I know why we are together! To serve God and others together and I want to thank you for being a part of the community we serve. We appreciate you! -Jon P.S., There's special prayer we say together as a couple. If you want to read it, you can here.
