LET MUM REST STATUE
Pope Francis said that for his birthday on December 17, he was shown a unique Nativity scene, named “Let Mum Rest.” In this depiction, Mary is sleeping while Joseph is holding and caring for the Baby Jesus. The pope said the image shows “the tenderness of a family, of a marriage.” This replica of that statue is made of a resin-mix and is hand-painted with beautiful attention to detail. Measures 4”W x 5”H x 5 3/4”D.
These unique statues are made in Colombia. Each one is individually hand-painted by trained women who are either widows, single mothers, or those who are sole providers for their families. Slight color and design variations may occur.
