| Welcome to the weekend and the September 9 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter. We've almost made it, y'all. One more sleep until the Saints kick things off against the Tennessee Titans in the Superdome. Let's get after it. The new foundationThe Saints should know as well as anyone else how a good draft (or two) can quickly reverse a franchise's fortunes. The last entry in our Tipping Point series takes a look at the new Saints foundational players, zeroing in on five youngsters whom the Saints need to vastly outperform their rookie contracts in order to steer the franchise out of its skid. The good news for an aging team that aggressively manages the salary cap: The kids are alright. B.O.L.OThat's an acronym for Be On the Lookout, and not a reference to exceptionally cool ties. We've been spending an inordinate amount of time watching this Saints team practice for the last month and change. We've been fretting over trends from last year, and what might carry over into the 2023 season. Sunday, we'll start to finally get a real sense of who the Saints are, and this is what we're keeping an eye on. PREDICTIONS! Three of us are confident the Saints are going to take care of business against the Titans Sunday, while one of us (cough, Rod Walker, cough) went against the grain and took the visiting team.
