If I was to make a gratitude list, my supporters, early adopters, crazy trend setting brave wine club members like you would top it. Closely followed by my Taco (Toyota Tacoma) that is still humming after 189,009 miles to be exact. Also the el Niño that is supposedly making an appearence this coming weekend (4-6 inches of rain on Central Coast.. ya we'll see about that Mr. Weatherman), also coffee and those nice green tomatillo salsas you randomly find at hole-in-the-wall taco shops. Those are so good. But really, there isn't a day that goes by I don’t count myself fortunate, lucky, and all other related synonyms old man Webster has up his sleeves. I'm fortunate to have people like you. So first and most importantly, thank you so much for being part of my wine project. You play a much bigger part than you could ever imagine. Our tasting room has been super busy, our wine club has grown significantly, and my inventory mountains have became mere hills. Thank you for spreading the word, sharing bottles with friends and posting pictures on social media. That helps so much. Please come visit me next time you're in my neck of the woods! Gotta take advantage of the free wine club tasting ;) The 2015 vintage was heavily affected by the ever-existing drought in CA along with super warm temperatures early in the growing season. In EARLY Spring 2015, when the vines decided to wake up, the premature heat burnt the little flowers and essentially made it impossible for the fruit that was affected to pollinate and produce a healthy crop. So that left me with 64% of my expected wine... No problem though. What we got was spectacular and yes. I'm about to say it... "Probably our best vintage to date." Unfortunately it was the smallest amount of wine I've made yet. Probably only 800 cases or so : ( I have some very special and NON Rhone wines coming down the pike. Stay tuned The 2014 wines (the next wines to be bottled and released) are massive and still resting in oak barrels. I have made a crucial wine making decision and will be holding off on bottling these wines until July. Many of you have tasted my 2013 wines and experienced how structured and colossal they can be in their youth. So from here on out I will be aging my reds for extended periods of time... Probably up to 20-22 months versus the previous 16-18 month regime the 2013 wines were on. This will allow them to develop softer tannins and also slowly concentrate flavors and add layers of complexity and nuance. MMMMMMMmmmmm. So that leads me to the 2016 Spring offering... All current offerings are posted on my website --> http://www.levowine.com/juice Because I have some new members that didn't get a chance to receive the Fall Release, I'd like everyone to get the opportunity to receive a shipment of these 2013 Reds and 2014 Whites if they'd like. Simply send me an email (b@levowine.com) w/ a subject line that says YES PLEASE. If you'd like to opt out for Spring 2016 don't email me and I wont charge your card. So instead of guitar solos I just dish out generous pours of Central Coast wine. If you'd ever like to host a winemaker dinner please give me a shout and I can fill you in with the details. I'd love to come hang out with you. I can bring wines, pour them at wine club pricing and extend that pricing to your friends. As it warms up, and BBQ's get fired up I figured I'd throw that out there... chew on it. Lemme know :) PPS The 2014 Grenache will be released this coming Fall 2016 if it is tasting ready. It might be as late as Spring 2017, which is when new Petite Sirah, Syrahs, and whites will be released.
