Plus, Pulse memorial gets new life

Hi y'all,

🌈 LGBTQ+ groups aren't sitting back in the face of Donald Trump's anti-transgender executive orders. Lambda Legal and the Human Rights Campaign have filed two suits already challenging some of his orders.

❌ Nancy Mace is still a transphobe. The South Carolina Republican repeatedly said a transphobic slur at a Congressional hearing this week.

🕯️ Long-delayed plans for a memorial honoring the victims and survivors of the Pulse nightclub shooting appear to be moving forward in Orlando after years of financial scandal and public criticism. A Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee on Tuesday approved a conceptual plan on how best to remember the victims of the notorious mass shooting. “It was a thoughtful process that involved those most impacted, the families and survivors,” said Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan, the out Orlando leader who long represented the neighborhood where Pulse once operated.

Onwards and upwards,
