Finishing off a strong display of teamwork all day in taking control of the race, Lorena Wiebes powered to an impressive victory at Scheldeprijs for the second year in a row, taking her 40th professional win in the process.
Team DSM took control of the race early in the day behind the three rider breakaway, marshalling the front and setting the pace while keeping Wiebes out of trouble all day. Having brought things back together in the final kilometres, the team positioned Wiebes into the finale from which point she could focus on doing what she does best, sprinting to the line to take the team's fourth win of the year.
