Together with writers Abe Ahn and Matt Stromberg, we picked a total of 48 galleries, museums, nonprofits, and community art spaces that we think are doing interesting work. We hope this will be a useful resource for you! In juicy art world news, it seems that the Getty acquired a fake Gauguin sculpture (and paid $3 million for it back in 2002). And in other Getty news, the museum recently launched a podcast that shares rare interviews with Alice Neel, Lee Krasner, Betye Saar, Helen Frankenthaler, Yoko Ono, and Eva Hesse. News The museum, which purchased the work in 2002, has changed the attribution of the sculpture “Head with Horns” to “unknown.” PEN America released a five-point guide for writers and journalists after Iranians and Iranian-Americans reported increased scrutiny at US border crossings following the killing of Qasem Soleimani.
