KILLING FIELD: The coroner’s white van pulled into The Willows Apartments in New Orleans East, passing a broken gate, an unstaffed security booth and graffiti that proclaims, “God Loves Every1.” In the trash-strewn courtyard, a 36-year-old man’s bullet-riddled body lay under the gaze of law enforcement officers and about two dozen residents.
