Narveson | Staff Writer Eight years after the floods: Five companies that helped design and install a median on Interstate 12 that worsened catastrophic flooding in 2016 will pay more than $21 million to fix the barriers and fund flood-fighting efforts in the affected parts of East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parishes, thanks to a settlement approved this month. The agreement could end a nearly eight-year legal battle that sprang from the floods, which damaged tens of thousands of homes, displaced residents and paralyzed swaths of the region. So, what happened to Boil & Roux? After 10 years on Coursey Boulevard, the popular but controversial seafood restaurant Boil & Roux is closing. The restaurant drew big crowds and was featured last year on chef Robert Irvine's show "Restaurant Impossible." But it also was controversial, with neighbors claiming patrons caused loud noises late into the night, and it ran into legal trouble with its landlord and alcohol board officials.
