Cork & Fork culinary festival returns to Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel

This isn't your typical event. The Cork & Fork culinary festival is returning to Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel for it second year this fall. It will feature a handful of celebrated women chefs from across the U.S. and is being hosted in partnership with the James Beard Foundation. The event runs from Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1.

A troll in the U.P.? “Benny the Beard Fisher” is a new art installation on the banks of the Manistique River at Northland Outfitters in Germfask. He is a troll character in a coming children’s book by Danish artist Thomas Dambo – and the latest up north attraction to open to the public. The 14-foot-tall wooden troll is already delighting visitors.
