One of the top-ranked music festivals in the nation is in Michigan

Michigan’s own music festival, Electric Forest, was named one of the Top 10 music festivals in the nation. The festival is ranked No. 6 on USA Today’s 10 Best Music Festivals in the U.S.  and comes in before Bonnaroo in Tennessee, Sea.Hear.Now in New Jersey and Austin City Limits. Known for its psychedelic and friendly atmosphere, tens of thousands of music lovers don eccentric costumes and descend on Double JJ Resort in Rothbury each year. One of the biggest draws to festival is the immersive Sherwood Forest that's filled with artwork, lights, music and discovery. Over 30 new artists were just added to the festival lineup this week, scheduled for June 20-23.

All aboard

The S.S. Badger car ferry will soon set sail once again. The ferry offers daily round trip service between Ludington and Manitowoc, Wis., serving as a short cut and one-of-a-kind experience for travelers. The ship just celebrated its 71st maiden voyage anniversary and is the last coal-fired passenger steamer in the United States. Interested in taking a trip? Saving the lighthouse

The Northern Michigan beach town of Frankfort is crowdfunding for a $1.1 million lighthouse restoration project. Built in 1912, the North Breakwater Light needs to be sandblasted and painted, along with some interior renovations, city superintendent Joshua Mills told MLive. So far the city has raised $43,000 for repairs.
