| It was a tough start for the first born calf of the Detroit Zoo's 5-year-old giraffe, Zara. The male bb was underweight and mom and bb were having trouble nursing. The calf didn't get the nutrition he needed during his first 12 hours of life! But good news, the zoo's animal care and veterinary teams stepped up and news from Detroit is that baby - now two weeks old - is thriving! | |
