Have any of us ever been so keenly aware of our neighbors? Hell, I've started to name my squirrels and have very specific opinions about each one.
Chances are, you've seen more of your neighbors than ever since the Covid-19 lockdown began, and even if you haven't, you've definitely heard more from them than ever.
(I'd like to take this moment to apologize very specifically to my neighbors. I didn't know you were sitting on your back patio when I was practicing Africa by Toto on guitar for the 17th time in a row, and your door slam was well deserved.)
Bose, famed for its noise-canceling headphones, has launched a global ad on the very relatable issue of noisy neighbors quarantine.
At first, it seems to be a spot making fun of all those nearby who get under our skin with their music, loud hobbies and wall-shaking surround sound systems. But as you might imagine, now is not the time to be turning us against our neighbors.
In the end, the ad shows it has a good heart, along with a message of tolerance and neighborly love. An ad like this could have come across as out of sync with the global mood, but Bose found the right balance.
Now please put on your noise-canceling headphones while I try that Africa chorus again.
