LSU's passing game? There are issues.

Sustainability is a word you hear everywhere these days.

Mostly in reference to the environment.

But it also applies to the state of the LSU passing game.

The Tigers are winning, four straight victories capped by Saturday's mega-comeback from 17-0 down to win 21-17 at Auburn. But LSU managed only 85 yards passing and 14 offensive points.

That won't cut it as LSU's schedule takes a major leap in degree of difficulty, starting with this Saturday's home game against Tennessee (11 a.m., ESPN). No one knows that more than coach Brian Kelly.

It's not just the passing game. LSU has fallen behind by double digits in its three games against Power Five foes, with early defensive issues helping put the Tigers in major holes. LSU is playing with heart and resilience, but again Kelly knows that isn't enough against the teams the Tigers are about to start playing.

The LSU-Florida game will be in prime time on Oct. 15, 6 p.m. CDT on ESPN. Plan accordingly and pace yourself throughout the day when it comes to alcohol and onion dip.

There's a connection between the injuries suffered Saturday by Sevyn Banks and the one that currently has Major Burns sidelined.

John Emery mostly had a positive game at Florida, scoring the game-winning touchdown in the third quarter. But he also had a fumble late in the fourth, a fumble that Kelly explained wasn't totally his fault.
