 We're a little infatuated with monkey breads. Love 'em. A customer called them "the most scrumptious concoction on the planet."
You can make monkey bread with any bread dough--though we've discovered that raised, glazed donut dough works even better. They're lighter, fluffier, and sweeter.
Let the dough rise, cut the dough into chunks, dredge them in butter and roll through the filling mixture. Stack them in a pan, let 'em rise again, and bake them. Pretty simple.
We've used bundt pans, loaf pans, square pans, and jumbo muffin pans. Bundt pans have traditionally been used so that heat radiates from the tunnel and they bake quicker.
 Use a thermometer to tell when they are done. The center of the loaf should reach 190 degrees.
The traditional filling is cinnamon sugar but we've gotten carried away with variations like cinnamon orange, and maple honey. There is also a savory version and a cheesy version.
