Tornado-damaged BorgWarner to resume operations this month

BorgWarner Inc. plans to resume limited production at its tornado-damaged Seneca plant in early May. The plant is in the section of Seneca hit hardest April 13 by one of several tornadoes to cut through the Upstate. (GSA Business Report)

Boeing to further cut 787 production rate by 2022

Boeing will cut the production rate of the 787 to seven per month by 2022, the third production rate cut announced by the company in six months. The company plans to cut 787 production to 10 per month this year, down from the current rate of 14 per month. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

Michelin, Greenville Tech donate critical-needs supplies

Michelin North America donated more than 25,000 surgical masks to AnMed Health on Thursday, and Greenville Technical College held a critical supplies drive for the Bon Secours St. Francis Health System. (GSA Business Report)

Volvo plans to reopen plant Monday

Volvo Cars is planning to reopen its Ridgeville plant on Monday, almost a month later than it initially planned. The company closed the production site on March 26 because of the coronavirus with plans to reopen April 14. Volvo extended the closure, however, to protect the health of employees. A company spokeswoman did not provide further details about the reopening plans. Volvo employs approximately 1,500 people at its Berkeley County plant. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)
