State ports continue strong start to fiscal year

The S.C. Ports Authority continued its strong start to the 2020 fiscal year, reporting its best September on record for cargo volumes. The ports authority handled approximately 195,000 TEUs at the Wando Welch and North Charleston container terminals last month and 22,124 vehicles at the Columbus Street Terminal. Pavement group anticipates 1,000 new jobs

The S.C. Asphalt Pavement Association anticipates 1,000 additional jobs coming to the S.C. asphalt paving industry over the next five years. The growth is expected because of the 2017 S.C. Roads Bill. (GSA Business Report)

DOT approves Lowcountry Rapid Transit project for development

Vehicle manufacturer to locate in North Charleston

Spartan Motor Inc., based in Charlotte, Mich., plans to establish operations in North Charleston with a $1.15 million investment that is expected to create over 300 new jobs. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

College to host Milliken diversity professional

Spartanburg Community College will host the next Professional Speakers Series featuring Ricaye Harris, director of diversity and inclusion at Milliken & Co.
