We’re thrilled to announce that Mario Batali will be speaking at Code Commerce. Yes, that Mario Batali — the globally recognized celebrity chef, orange-Croc-wearing restaurateur and partner behind Eataly, the gourmet Italian food marketplace with locations worldwide.

Batali is one of the biggest names in Italian cuisine. He rose to fame with a clear cooking philosophy — use fresh, local ingredients as simply as possible.

He’s also a modern-day food entrepreneur and retail pioneer. Batali has successfully spun his celebrity chef status into 26 restaurants, 11 cookbooks, numerous TV shows and, most recently, five Eataly gourmet marketplaces in the U.S. featuring high-end Italian ingredients and products.

As Eataly grows in popularity — new outposts opened last year in Boston and downtown New York City, and a Los Angeles location is set to open this year — Batali is also marketing a branded product line of cookware, pasta, sauces and cookbooks with a broader distribution.

Mario Batali counts 26 restaurants, 11 cookbooks, numerous television shows and five Eataly marketplaces among his ever-expanding empire of deliciousness. Last year, Batali opened the Michelin-starred La Sirena Ristorante in the Maritime Hotel in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood.
