Maritime industry is shaping up for Europort 2017

With less than 10 weeks to go, the industry is preparing for this year’s premier maritime technology event. From 7 - 10 November, Europort will be the international meeting place for the maritime industry. It is certain to be a vibrant, informative event, with an abundance of worthwhile opportunities to make contacts and learn about the latest technological developments. The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) is staging a very timely one-day conference on Power and Propulsion Alternatives for Ships to coincide with Europort at the Rotterdam Ahoy centre on November 8th. RINA believes there is still significant scope for design innovation to widen the potential for alternative fuels and power systems within the shipping industry. Speakers at the conference will investigate and evaluate some of the options that can help develop a new generation of cleaner ships with lower carbon emissions. The conference will include presentations looking at wind-powered and wind assisted vessels, alternative and renewable fuels, all-electric and hybrid electric solutions and solar power.
