With the final volume of the report from the Manchester Arena Enquiry published last month, Martyn's Law is set to come into force this year.

The incoming Protect Duty legislation is designed to ensure the public is better protected from a “multifaceted, diverse and continually evolving” terror threat.

Martyn’s Law will apply to a wide variety of venues, including public squares, open spaces, markets, transport hubs, retail stores, shopping centres, pubs and bars, hospitals, hotels, casinos, stadiums and music venues, festivals and museums.
