| | A building collapsed in Bangkok after the earthquake hit central Myanmar. Credit: Reuters | A 7.7 magnitude earthquake has hit central Myanmar, sending strong tremors into Thailand and China. There are reports of roads buckling in Myanmar's capital Naypyidaw, and 43 construction workers are missing after an unfinished 30-storey building in Bangkok collapsed. |
| | | Neha Bapna sees her pet dog Muffin as her child. Credit: Neha Bapna | For Neha Bapna, nothing in the world is more important than her dog Muffin. Pampering one's pet used to be a luxury that was exclusive to the ultra-rich. But now affluent and middle-class urban Indians like Ms Bapna are splurging more on their "fur babies", fuelling a boom in India's pet care industry that has almost doubled in value in recent years, as Nikita Yadav reports from Delhi. |

And finally... | For decades the Sutton Hoo helmet discovered in England's "Valley of the Kings" was thought to have links to Sweden. But then a detectorist on an island in southern Denmark found a small metal stamp with similar markings to those on the famous helmet. Now, archaeologists might have to reconsider its origins - and our understanding of the balance of power in 7th Century northern Europe. | |
