| | As we enter the month of May, I would like to remind you of the resources and programming available to you through the Caregivers Program of Baltimore County. Included in our three-page flier, you will find valuable resource sessions, education opportunities and more: Page One - Caregivers Educational Support Network—VIRTUAL 6:30 until 8 p.m. Page Two - Resource Sessions and Workshops Page Three - Dementia Friendly Resources In addition to Baltimore County resources, I would also like to share the following virtual program being offered by the Maryland Living Well Center of Excellence. The seven week virtual class for SAVVY Caregiver Workshop will run from May 17 to June 28, on Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. Each session uses a combination of instruction, interactive exercises, and home assignments for you to learn SAVVY concepts and apply them to your own caregiving situations. The goal is for family caregivers to feel confident and competent in their care role so that they can make the most of their time with their person who is living with dementia. Savvy curriculum empowers caregivers by enabling them to: Gain a better understanding of Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Develop self-care strategies. Learn skills and strategies to successfully provide daily activities of ‘Contented Involvement’ for their family member living with dementia. Identify and engage family and other resources for care-related assistance and support. This class includes a special session from the Alzheimer's Association on Managing Money. Interested individuals should register at https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07ejrvawk731109a23&oseq=&c=&ch= If you missed our Caregiver Conference, you can view the recorded session on our BCDA YouTube Channel at https://youtu.be/4BxpxbphWK0 I hope you will enjoy many of the shared resources.
