When following the threads of a story, I often find myself turning to the Technical.ly archives for context.

 

Today's search took me back to 2013, before I was reporting here. That's when bwtech@UMBC's Light Point Security was named a finalist for "most innovative company" at the RSA conference in San Francisco. It's an award that spotlights early startups with promising technology at the big cybersecurity industry event of the year.

 

Fast forward to this year's RSA: It's making big news again, as McAfee announced at the conference that it signed an agreement to acquire Light Point Security. Read on for all the details below.
