Inauguration - WHO Hub for Pandemic and
Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin

When: Wednesday 01 September 2021 –

Subject: Inauguration of the new WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin by, amongst others:

· WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom GHEBREYESUS

· H.E. Federal Chancellor of Germany Dr. Angela MERKEL

· H.E. German Federal Minister of Health Jens SPAHN

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and H.E. Dr Angela Merkel will inaugurate the new global WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin. The event will be live streamed and followed by a press conference.

The Hub will bring together partners worldwide to collaborate and create the tools and data needed for all countries to prepare, detect and respond to pandemic and epidemic risks.

This special event will also recognize Chancellor Merkel’s outstanding leadership in global public health.
