The One Health Joint Plan of Action (OHJPA) has been published today. More details and the OHJPA are available at this link: You are invited to cover a high-level advocacy event in Berlin for the new Action Plan on One Health aims to sustainably promote the health of human, animal, plant and environment In a new and unprecedented collaboration, four global intergovernmental organizations (Quadripartite) are committed to protecting the health of humans, animals, plants and the environment with a comprehensive action plan: The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE) aim to reduce the risk and impact of health threats and at the same time sustainably balance and optimize the health of humans, animals, plants and the environment through the One Health approach. With the official addition of UNEP, the Quadripartite organizations are sending a clear signal that in times of the climate crisis and worsening environmental degradation, the health of all living beings can only be protected holistically. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a central objective of this collaboration is to prevent, prepare and respond to future pandemics. With the One Health Joint Plan of Action (OH JPA), the Quadripartite has now developed the basis for its ongoing cooperation at the global, regional and national level. The plan includes six action tracks and describes concrete measures on how to ensure wellbeing at the humans, animals, plants and the environment interface. It addresses many crucial aspects, such as how to develop resilient health systems, how to reduce risks from emerging or re-emerging zoonotic epidemics and pandemics, better assessment and management of food safety risks, and curbing antimicrobial resistance. The OH JPA will be presented during a side event of the World Health Summit. We would like to cordially invite you to this event. You will find further information on the program in the attachments.
