Click here Thursday, 24 February 2022 MEDIA ADVISORY WHO Recommendation on the Composition of Influenza Virus Vaccines for Use in the 2022-2023 Northern Hemisphere Influenza Season and the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS) WHAT: From 21-24 February 2022, WHO organized consultations with an advisory group of experts to analyse influenza virus surveillance data generated by the WHO Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS), and issues recommendation on the composition of the influenza vaccines for the following influenza season. These recommendations are used by the national vaccine regulatory agencies and the pharmaceutical companies to develop, produce and license influenza vaccines. On 25 February 2022, the WHO Recommendation on the Composition of Influenza Virus Vaccines for Use in the 2022-2023 Northern Hemisphere Influenza Season will be announced publicly during an Information session in the morning. This will be followed by a Global Virtual Press Conference where the recommendation will be discussed.
