Steven Isserlis with the MSO, Bill Bailey on Duet and more
| Rosemary Brown claimed she had little musical training but produced over 300 pieces of music from long-dead composers including Beethoven, Chopin and even John Lennon. When she was seven, a man she later identified as Liszt appeared to her and said: "When you grow up, I will come back and give you music." In 1964 he returned and began to transmit music to her, guiding her hands on the piano. Her work quickly gained attention from the British public through the 60s and 70s, although reactions to her claims were mixed. "I certainly think she would be unable to fake music. She's not clever," said Ian Parrott, Professor of Music at Aberystwyth University. Fact or fiction, researchers believe there are many things we can learn from Brown's music. | |
