| Meet the Artists We've been asking our Atelier OPEN artists to tell us a bit about themselves and their work and, as expected, they turn out to be an ecclectic mix of professional, semi-professional and hobby artists, juggling busy lives and diverse inspirations in their creative practice. We wouldn't want it any other way! We'll be posting their stories on our Instagram and our website, so keep your eyes peeled. With 150 exhibiting artists, we might not get to hear from them all, but we'll do our best! This week we'll be hearing from 'the accidental printmaker' Ian O'Halleron (above) emerging collage artist Lior Locher (below). Head over to our website to get to know them a bit better. The Atelier OPEN has been extended until the 17th September, so come and vote for your favourite piece from the 280 artworks on display. We're open every day, 11am-5pm, or you can view the work in our online gallery any time. |

| The Darktown Seaside Beano - an exhibition by Jonny Hannah and friends. Many of you will recognise the distinctive hand of Jonny Hannah, and - as much as we hate to talk about what's to come when there is still so much to enjoy at the Atelier OPEN - we're definitely looking forward to his upcoming show. As well as exhibiting a selection of his own work, Jonny has invited a bunch of his brilliant artist friends to create an artwork on a jumbo lasercut postcard and send it back to him.They will all be on display at ABtS from 21st September until the 12th November. Looking down Jonny's list of pen pals, there promises to be some real gems among the giant postcards, and the PV alone should be a HOOT! Save the date for Thursday 21st September 6-9pm and rsvp to let us know you're coming. |
