Christal M. Cherry advises nonprofits on board recruitment, governance, fundraising, DEI efforts, and conflict resolution. Previously, she spent more than two decades as a fundraiser at colleges and universities, seminaries, and human service organizations. Christal is also founder and chair of the board of directors for Fabulous Female Fundraisers and author of the children’s book Mac and Cheez: Being Different is Okay.
Angela Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit world, and she has generated revenue and increased support for colleges and universities and other national organizations, as well as community-based nonprofits. As chief operating officer at Give Black Alliance, Angela helps create strong alliances between Black communities and grant makers. Angela currently serves as board member and chair of the development committee for Minds Matter Boston and as vice chair of the board of Old North Illuminated. Past board experience includes the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Lenny Zakim Fund, and Sisters in Development, as well as a four-year term on the Advisory Committee for the Massachusetts State Treasurer, Steve Grossman.
