Michael Oliver: Market Tectonic Shift Underway!Major Changes Underway in this, America's Fourth 4th Turning
William Strauss and Neil Howe have written the classic book on major historical societal changes titled “The Fourth Turning.” Every 20 years a new generation appears. Every four of those generations span a period of between 80 to 100 years when major changes take place as the belief systems undergo change. So, with the passage of time and generations, major political, spiritual and religious values undergo great change. All of those values have an impact on economic systems and have much to do with material wealth or impoverishment. All evidence suggests America is now in the midst of its fourth, fourth turning, the first three being the following: 1776 - The Revolutionary War 1850 - The Civil War 1930 - The Great Depression and World War II In other words, these changes are very big deals. The end of these major turning points witnesses major social conflicts based on irreconcilable differences until one side wins a decisive victory at which time new values and political systems reemerge. At some point, both winners and losers learn to live together peacefully again, at least for a while until the cycle is repeated over the next 80-to-100-year period. What middle class citizens are looking forward to is a return to conservative based on meritocracy. They are sick and tied of socialist policies that reward failure and lead to middle class serfdom. We are seeing an electoral rebellion from the right in countries like Argentina, most western European countries, the U.S. and potentially in Canada. People are saying they are mad as hell and they are not going to take it anymore. So, the right political tectonic plate is slamming up against a leftist Keynesian Marxist tectonic plate. Might the next Fourth Turning be characterized by a subduction of Marxist globalist socialism under a politically right plate or perhaps back to a happier version of the American ideals of neither left or right of our Founding Fathers? Might we be able to live peacefully once again, accepting differences in others while still voluntarily caring for one another out of obedience to the golden rule? Personally, I hope for the latter. But before we will know the answer to our future, we will have to go through some very gut wrenching times which will most likely see a complete demolition of the existing global fiat monetary system and a return to an honest gold backed system of shape or form. Gold at $8,000 or where to? Asking how high gold will go is a very foolish question because gold is gold. It is always the same. The better question to ask is how much gold will an increasingly worthless currency buy as politicians continue to attempt to deceive people into the socialist notion that you can have something for nothing. In my interview with Michael, he explains the logic of why he has suggested during this fourth turning gold is headed for at least $8,000/oz. But because this current asset bubble is far, far greater than any other in history, and because most, if not all, fiat currencies are in a debt trap that sentences them eventually into the dustbin of history, the potential price of gold measured in worthless money stretches out to infinity. Besides gold and silver Michael put on his technical analyst glasses to talk about the following: Why he thinks tech stocks are on the verge of collapse and the overall markets in general. Emerging markets are likely to fall but far less in percentage terms than U.S. markets. Why U.S. Treasuries may rally in a counter trend rally as stocks fall but then resume a multi-decade bear market. Why gold miners are looking technically and fundamentally strong, and why the miners and especially the silver miners will be the superstars of the next major move. Why he especially likes uranium in the energy market but why he also thinks oil will soon rally. And why virtually all commodities including grains and fertilizer stocks will perform well. I hope you enjoy Michael’s astute remarks based on his objective technical analysis. Best wishes, Jay Taylor You're currently a free subscriber to J Taylor's Gold Energy & Tech Stocks.
