"Leave Something for the River"
THIS WEEK we are pleased to introduce Cameron Scott, a writer, fly fishing guide and teacher who also happened to be the winner of our recent Patagonia Wild Fish Activism contest. Cameron sent us another essay recently that had us pausing to think about things we don't often think about when on the water. It's both an ode to what we take from rivers and a call to give back in ways we haven't considered before. Read "Leave Something for the River."
Rene Harrop's Isonychia Hairwing is the focus of this week's tying tutorial by Tim Flagler. "Think of a Harrop’s Hairwing as a style of fly, not just an individual pattern," says Flagler. "Simply by changing the colors of materials and hook sizes, you can make any number of mayfly imitations."
