Minister accused of money laundering, Peter Mayer moving and that tropical disturbance in the Caribbean

MINISTER’S MONEY: For more than three decades, Rev. Charles Southall III has led a flock of hundreds of New Orleanians, preaching each Sunday behind the vibrant red doors of First Emanuel Baptist Church in Central City. But in recent years, Southall’s temporal activities - with a charter school, with City Hall and with the failed First NBC bank - have come under scrutiny, culminating in federal prosecutors charging him with money laundering.

AD-IOS: Louisiana’s largest advertising agency, Peter Mayer, is leaving its longtime home in the New Orleans Central Business District, and the three-building complex, which dates from the 1850s, is up for sale. Owner Michelle Edelman explains why.

DISTURBING NEWS: A tropical disturbance has entered the Caribbean Sea and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression within two days - and possibly churn into the Gulf of Mexico.
