Magnolia Botanicals opening hemp processing plant in Dorchester County

Magnolia Botanicals, a joint venture between S.C.-based Blue Water Green Bridge LLC and United Cannabis Corp., plans to establish an industrial hemp processing plant in Dorchester County. The 25,000-square-foot facility will be located at Pine Hill Business Campus in Ridgeville.

MUSC children’s hospital opening delayed again

The opening of the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion has been delayed and will not open on Saturday, as previously announced. This is the second time the hospital pushed back its opening, which was originally planned for October.

Manufacturers Alliance chairman: Industry has changed state

There are more than 5,000 manufacturing facilities in South Carolina. And since 2011, about 66,000 manufacturing jobs have been announced, representing $27 billion of capital investment, according to Max Metcalf, chairman of the S.C. Manufacturers Alliance.
