Monopolies, Viruses and a Whole Lot of Data

We've been talking a lot about security and data protection in the office lately, it's hard not to considering these topics have dominated the zeitgeist in recent times, as they rightly should. The big one, of course is Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes' recent op-ed in the New York Times about breaking apart Facebook's monopoly. If you haven't done so yet, it is worth a read. And of course, the counter-argument from Facebook in their op-ed. Whether you think more competition in the space or tougher regulation is the key to better data practices with social media, it's definitely an interesting space to be paying attention to right now.
