Permit pulled: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has suspended a permit for the stalled Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion project, a centerpiece of the state's coastal restoration effort, citing the current uncertainty surrounding the plan and claiming Louisiana officials "deliberately withheld" information during the project's initial evaluation process. Joni Hess has the details.
Medicaid fight begins: Louisiana has one of the nation's highest rates of residents on Medicaid, and proposed changes to the program have raised alarm among doctors, hospitals and state budget officials. They fear, as Mark Ballard reports, reductions that could leave low-income Americans without health insurance or blow holes in state budgets.
'Here until it closes': Tom Brown is a 102-year-old Virginia resident and Jazz Fest superfan who has been a regular at the festival for the last few decades. Doug MacCash met up with Brown in the Jazz Tent to talk about New Orleans, his service in World War II and his lifelong love affair with the music of his youth.
