More discoveries with the ZEISS Victory SF32 |

Dear reader, This year brought up many challenges and concerns for us. Nature, nevertheless, compensated us at every season reliably. Goethe once said you must take your time for nature if you want to gain something back. That is what this year also was: pause, take it slowly and travel less, which profited nature significantly. The migrating birds are already enjoying their wintering grounds in the South if they hopefully managed all the new challenges on their way. We may dream of them and enjoy the winter spectacle of nature in our woods at home together with the resident birds. Let Catherine Hamilton take you on a virtual journey, learn more about the latest ZEISS optics such as the Victory SF32 and read about how to exchange ideas with other birdwatchers at Birdforum. |

ZEISS Victory SF32 - Tested during the Global Bird Weekend |
The new ZESS Victory SF binoculars are now available at your retailer! Mark Anderson, CEO of BirdLife South Africa, used the SF32 during the Global Bird Weekend in October: |
“I borrowed a pair of ZEISS 10x32 Victory binoculars for Global Bird Weekend and for the 28th year of our White-backed Vulture research at Dronfield Nature Reserve. I was super impressed with the clarity and especially the lightness of these world-class binoculars. I reckon that those binoculars would comfortably hang around my neck all day. I had a few friends and colleagues try out these superb binoculars and, as a result, I anticipate that they will be upgrading their binoculars soon” |

Identifying age and sex of Hen Harriers |
Identifying the age and sex of Hen Harriers was very vague for a long time, although the authors Clark and Forsman performed a lot of important fundamental work. Yet, it could not prevent inconsistent information in different field guides, and the presented illustrations sometime were not representing reality.
